Marion Cramp  

I live in the south of the county in an old village school which we have converted to a family home.  Here we brought up our 3 children, all of whom have since travelled the world and are now back living locally.  I also enjoy spending time with my 4 young granddaughters. 

I first joined the WI when we moved to the village over 40 years ago. This was quite a surprise to me but I have enjoyed all the experiences and friendships it has brought.  

When I finished University in Newcastle upon Tyne I worked for 2 years as a Land Surveyor, unheard of in those days for a woman but a common sight now.  I then worked for a year at the MOD before going into teaching and spent the rest of my working life teaching Geography and Maths.  I was lucky to be able to participate in several school trips to Kenya, India, Morocco and lastly a cooking trip to S Italy – delicious! 

Having now retired I have time for hobbies such as stained glass, patchwork, knitting and reading.  I sing with our local community choir and of course the WI choir.  We also enjoy exploring home and abroad in our motorhome.
