Stonehouse WI was formed in 1968. We’re a very friendly bunch of ladies who enjoy a lively and varied programme of speakers and activities. As well as hearing some great talks when we meet, we also offer a well-attended monthly book club, and some of us walk together in the beautiful surrounding countryside that is on our doorstep and beyond. There are various opportunities for crafting too. We lovingly maintain a large planter in the centre of Stonehouse, as well as supporting other local community events. The annual membership covers lots of benefits, but the best one is that you get to spend time with friends made within the group. Even if you’re new to WI, it doesn’t matter a jot. You’ll be guided through all the technical jargon and helped to get to grips with the way things work. We are more than ‘Jam & Jerusalem’ (although we are still very much fans of cake!).
