I was dragged along to my first WI meeting by a friend in 1995 in Northamptonshire, I then moved to Kent and forgot all about WI until 2006 when I joined Worth WI, a very small WI with less than 20 members, they were such a lovely group of ladies I was hooked!

A year later I moved back to Northamptonshire and joined Rushton Village WI where I am still a dual member having moved to Gloucestershire in 2019. I am a member of Moreton in Marsh Evening WI a very active WI with various groups from coffee mornings, book group, craft, textile,quiz, walking groups to croquet in the summer.

I joined the Membership committee during the Covid lockdown and eventually met the other ladies face to face after many months of zooming; at our first meeting I was greeted with…” aren’t you short”……I’m 4ft 11in! They encouraged me to become an Adviser so after seven months of online learning and two residentials, having learnt so much about the WI, I and my sixteen fellow trainees from all over the country and IoM who are now friends for life are proud to have achieved our goal to become advisers.
